Chris VAUGHAN (1993-96):
Chris "young man" was a quick left sided midfield/striker with good skill and a powerful shot. In his first season he scored 10 goals from midfield and
should have ended up top scorer in the final game where he missed a number of chances. Including beating 4 players, going around the keeper and shooting wide. We
lost that game 2-3 when a draw would have given the B's runners up medals in Division 6.
Naturally he was taken up to the A Team the following season (against his wishes) where he lost his desire to play for us. He eventually was snugly tucked under his girlfriend's thumb and
has not been seen since. Shame, because he was an excellent player.
Luigi VORRASO (1985-):
Lou joined the Club in 1986 and scored on his debut - in his own goal that is, against TSL. That was the last season that we were a one team side.
The manager then, a certain John James decided that after a few games he would try Lou as a sweeper behind TD. This he did with great effect, but
later was switched to left back. Lou once scored in open play - honest, I saw it. After becoming penalty taker however, he proved to be quite deadly.
Lou has been unlucky with injury and missed 3 finals as a result. Later on in 1999, he had to have surgery and after
some early good signs he was soon back in for another. Came back too early and broke down.
Lou has served for many years as the Club's treasurer and deserves credit for keeping ALL the Club's finances in check. He has also been Assistant Secretary for many years - a truly appreciated servant of the Club.
Marco VAN BASTEN :
Alas, Marco never played for Wanderers...................... but it looks good to a casual observer.
